Registered Nurse (RN) – VAD Coordinator

Registered Nurse (RN) – VAD Coordinator on a Cardiac ICU/Neuro-focused unit. Responsible for ongoing assessment of patients’ physical and psychosocial condition, development and communication of a plan of care, coordination with the healthcare team, education for patients and families, and supervision of non-RN personnel. Functions include serving as preceptor to new staff, acting as charge nurse, and ensuring high levels of service. Requires competency in neuro assessment, airway management of neuro patients, care for tracheostomy patients, and experience with devices such as LVADs and other advanced cardiac support. BSN preferred with CT State RN licensure; current BCLS certification required within one month of hire; opportunity for clinical advancement and ongoing professional development; roles within a high-acuity cardiac/CTICU/vascular context with focus on patient-centered care and adherence to professional standards.
