Job Summary
RN provides direct patient care on a nursing unit with assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan; supervises non-RN personnel; serves as charge nurse; coordinates care with the healthcare team; demonstrates expertise in neuro patient care, airway management, procedures (including tracheostomy and ventilator care), and uses the Tia teaching program; acts as preceptor to new staff and participates in education and discharge planning; role includes providing patient and family education and meeting performance expectations for service and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current Connecticut RN licensure (as applicable)
- BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
