Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – VAD Coordinator provides patient care on a nursing unit with supervision of non‐RN personnel, assumes charge nurse responsibilities, and may work on other units as distribution requires. Responsibilities include ongoing assessment of physical and psychosocial condition, development and documentation of individualized plans of care, collaboration with the healthcare team, education for patients and families, and acting as a preceptor and charge nurse. The role emphasizes neuro and cardiac ICU competencies, including care of neuro patients, airway management, care of tracheostomy patients, and familiarity with devices such as LVADs, ECMO considerations, and post-operative cardiac care. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Connecticut RN licensure, and current BCLS certification (or acquisition within one month). BSN preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
