Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – VAD Coordinator on a Cardiac/Neuro ICU unit. Provides assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision of patient care; serves as preceptor to new staff and as a charge nurse; collaborates with healthcare team to develop and document individualized care plans, in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team; demonstrates competency in neuro and airway management, care of trach patients, and advanced cardiac support; requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with CT RN licensure; BSN preferred; BCLS certified or obtained within one month; professional development ongoing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification required or to be obtained within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
- Nurse Practice Act compliance
- Accountability to standards of professional behavior
