REGISTERED NURSE - RN - UNION

Registered Nurse (RN) needed at a 31-bed intermediate care facility in Commack. Responsibilities include monitoring and assisting in overall health and safety of individuals served; supervising and training direct care staff on medication administration, universal precautions, infection control, and health and safety issues; completing yearly recertification for medication-certified individuals; administering medications and treatments as prescribed; generating incident, seizure, and illness reports; maintaining health care records and daily flow reports; instructing direct support professionals on hygiene, diet, weights, etc.; submitting nursing/medical progress notes; enforcing policies to address medication errors or safety violations; ensuring medical records maintenance per state and federal guidelines; coordinating with the team on issues and ensuring annual medical appointments and lab work are scheduled and followed per UCP policy; monitoring medication administration records and maintaining supplies; completing all paperwork assigned by the director of Residential Services. Education/experience include NYS RN license, AA degree or equivalent, and 1–3 years related experience; experience with developmentally disabled population and OPWDD regs a plus.
