Job Summary
Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing, and evaluation. Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients in the Obstetrics unit based on established clinical nursing practice standards and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achieve desired patient outcomes. Utilize knowledge of the patient population to determine appropriate care plans. Maintain sound judgment and initiative while adhering to MUSC Health Florence Medical Center policies and procedures. Requires minimum one year of RN experience, South Carolina licensure, and current BLS and ACLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
- Current BLS card
- Current ACLS card
- Minimum of one year of RN experience
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed
- Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors
- Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions
- Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations
- Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility
- Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Desired Qualifications
- If does not have ACLS card, must be obtained with in 6 months
