Job Summary
Provide nursing care to inmates and detainees while maintaining a safe, secure workplace. Perform comprehensive physical assessments, evaluate patient symptoms and progress, and report issues to physicians. Securely administer medications, prevent drug hoarding, and educate patients on chronic illnesses and post-surgical procedures. Supervise Licensed Practical Nurse staff and oversee workflow. Document all detainee contacts and maintain confidential medical records while adhering to industry accreditation policies. Requires current unrestricted RN license, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing, and two years of direct experience. Full-time evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts with on-call rotation. Pay starts at $43.44/hour with shift differentials and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an approved program
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in the state the facility is located
- Maintains a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times
- Two (2) years of direct work experience
- competence in the performance of crisis intervention
- competence in the performance of medical emergencies
- competence in the performance of physical assessment
- competence in the performance of medical nursing care
- competence in the performance of psychiatric nursing care
- ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing nursing diagnosis
- ability to provide appropriate follow through treatment
- Frequently: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 40 lbs.
