Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) determines donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results, and notifies donors of unsuitable results. The role reports to the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and collaborates with the Center Physician for medical issues, while following SOPs and center guidance for medical emergencies, donor safety, and vaccination programs. Requires RN licensure (state-specific), CPR/AED certification, and prior clinical/hospital experience. Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of responsibility
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (high school diploma or equivalent plus nursing program)
- CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
