Job Summary
Surgical Services Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Operating Room team in Anacortes, WA. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, administering medications and IV therapy, ensuring room cleanliness and equipment readiness, verifying patient identity and operative consent, communicating findings to surgeons and anesthesiologists, conducting pre- and post-operative education, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring correct patient/procedure pairing. The role requires collaboration with OR nurses and the anesthesia team, on-call availability, and adherence to safety standards. Certifications and licensure required include WA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS; inter-operative experience is preferred. A BSN is preferred and CNOR certification is encouraged. Hospital- or surgical-services experience, ability to coordinate care, and strong patient-education skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- Previous inter-operative experience required (preferably 2 years)
Desired Qualifications
- CNOR Certification preferred
- BSN preferred
- Inter-operative experience preferred
