Job Summary
Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and defining interventions while developing diagnoses and establishing objectives. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating care plans, and instructing individuals on self-care skills. Evaluate patient outcomes against standards by reviewing records, noting changing conditions, and modifying care plans as needed. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control protocols, medication regulations, and equipment maintenance procedures while documenting all services in department records. Work the day shift from 7am to 7pm on a 72-hour biweekly rotation at Avera McKennan Hospital's Surgical Renal Unit.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
- An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- The ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- The ability to communicate effectively with others
- The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Experience working in a clinical environment
