Job Summary
Coordinate the Patient Care Team's delivery of personalized, efficient care while providing patient assessment, initiating individualized plans of care, and collaborating with physicians on interdisciplinary teams. Maintain patient safety by reporting status changes, anticipating adverse outcomes, and adhering to medication administration rights and the 10 Rights of medication administration. Conduct hourly rounds, perform bedside shift reports, and complete daily CORE Measure assessments for conditions including heart failure, AMI, pneumonia, stroke, and surgical care. Participate in process improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodology, attend unit briefs and huddles, and ensure timely transition of care documentation in Epic. Obtain trauma nurse certification within 90 days and maintain annual competencies in EPIC, medication administration, and trauma-based education.
Required Qualifications
- Current state RN license
- Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
- Completion of the online hospital-based trauma nurse course within 1 year of hire
- One-year acute care experience or other comparable nursing experience
