Job Summary
Delivering and coordinating nursing care for patients within a multidisciplinary team in the Med/Surg unit using the nursing process to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications safely, educating patients and families about care plans and self-care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and leveraging healthcare technology (e.g., electronic health records, bar code scanning) to enhance patient safety and outcomes. Requires strong knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and Tennessee nursing licensure; BLS certification; effective delegation and critical-thinking skills; commitment to evidence-based practice and professional professionalism in line with MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Required - Associates Degree Nursing
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Nursing
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and coordinate nursing care within a multidisciplinary team
- Educates and advocates for patients and families
- Administrates medications safely
- Develops and adjusts individualized care plans
- Knowledge of nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Familiarity with electronic health records and healthcare technology
