Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based clinical care for designated patients using the nursing process. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes while delegating tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed health care members. Demonstrate respect, dignity, and empathy in all encounters with patients, families, and staff. Maintain competence in safe nursing skills, medication calculations, and emergency problem-solving. Work the night shift (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) in the Skilled Nursing Unit at St. Elizabeth Healthcare's Edgewood facility.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
- Must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence
- Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed
- Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses
- Focus of education promotes nurses' ability to practice in clinical area assigned
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration
- Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures
- Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area
- Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations
