Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds for all residents, administering prescribed treatments and injections while monitoring vital signs and performing in-house testing. Ensure individual health care plans are followed and updated, accurately documenting acute episodes or status changes. Supervise aides by assigning residents, specifying break times, and monitoring their performance. Personally receive and follow through on physician calls, preparing and administering medications with precision. Maintain current health care plans according to rotation schedules and participate in staff meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 to 3 years of college or vocational school
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move objects and/or people
- Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to bend, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of shift
