Job Summary
Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve desired outcomes. Coordinate patient, family, and health team involvement in care, including teaching and discharge planning. Communicate care plans to other health care team members and assist leadership in defining standards of excellence. Participate in quality improvement activities, performance improvement, and orientation of new staff. Act as a point of contact for hospital and departmental policies and procedures while providing input on unit needs. Perform daily operational activities necessary for a safe patient and staff environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Experience as a Registered Nurse
- AHA BLS Provider CPR
- AHA ACLS Provider
- NIHSS (Bluecloud)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 20 lbs
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to reach above/overhead
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Annual flu vaccine
