Job Summary
Provide school-based nursing care across NYC DOE schools on an as-needed, per diem basis. Deliver direct nursing care to students during assigned shifts, assess and manage acute illnesses and injuries, administer prescribed medications and treatments, respond to on-site medical emergencies, and maintain accurate health records. Ensure immunization and health requirements compliance, collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers, and implement Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) as needed. Requires an active NYS RN license, BLS/CPR certification, and at least 1 year of nursing experience (school or pediatric preferred); strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently are essential. Familiarity with EMR documentation and school health workflows is a plus.
