Job Summary
Conduct pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care for patients in the operating room, including assessment, discharge instructions, and coordination with the surgical team. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to assess patient status, determine problem priorities, and implement clinical interventions for acute, critical patients. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by observing the surgery and assisting the team in creating a comfortable setting. Deliver exceptional nursing care while developing and performing patient care plans to enhance outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Two years of RN experience in Critical Care Department
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and/or PALS may be required within 6 months based on specific surgical department requirements
- CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse
- SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates
- Completion of OR internship program
- Successful completion of Peri-op 101
