Job Summary
Review physician prescriptions and develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and defining interventions. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends while documenting conditions and re-evaluating care objectives. Teach self-care skills regarding medications and conditions, and maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control, medication, and controlled substance protocols. Keep equipment operational through preventive maintenance and ensure supplies are stocked and expeditiously ordered. Work day shifts Monday through Friday with occasional weekend or holiday coverage, rotating 80 hours every two weeks. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities and uphold Avera's core values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing
- An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- The ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- The ability to communicate effectively with others
- The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Experience working in a clinical environment
