Job Summary
Assess patient conditions, psychological status, and discharge planning needs on admission and ongoing. Plan, provide, and document patient education while evaluating and reevaluating care plans with providers and families. Delegate nursing care to LPNs, PCAs, and other team members based on patient needs and staff capabilities. Apply safety principles, accurately document observations, and participate in unit huddles and performance improvement activities. Maintain compliance with DCH policies, behavioral standards, and essential job functions to ensure patient, visitor, and employee safety. Requires current Alabama RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS training within six months. Full-time onsite role in Northport, AL.
Required Qualifications
- Current Alabama RN license
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Current approved Alabama Board of Nursing RN license or multi-state license
- Ability to obtain prior to start (multi-state license)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training
- Ability to obtain within 30 days of start date (BLS)
- Minimum Associates degree
- Physical presence onsite
Desired Qualifications
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Professional Nursing Certification
- BSN
