Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Rapid Response Team/ICU (Critical Care) at Southside Medical Center delivers acute nursing care with a focus on rapidly assessing patient status, prioritizing problems, implementing evidence-based interventions, and developing care plans to improve outcomes. The role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team, strong organizational and clinical judgment skills, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions. Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessment, creating and evaluating care plans, administering medications safely in line with state practice and organizational policies, and contributing to a safe, therapeutic environment. Education is BSN preferred; licensure as an RN is required. Certifications include BLS (required), ACLS (preferred at hire and required within 6 months if applicable), and PALS (preferred in Pediatric Units). The position entails 36 scheduled hours per week with Day/Evening shifts. External applicants with at least one year of RN experience may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5K. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support (required)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care; ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire or required in lieu of BLS/ACLS for Pediatric Units)
- 1 year RN experience (required)
- 6 months RN experience in Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department (preferred)
