Job Summary
Perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate individualized, patient-centered care through interdisciplinary rounds and bedside teaching while documenting safe quality outcomes. Partner with patients and families to align care plans with their goals, adapting service delivery to cultural diversity and population needs. Contribute to performance improvement initiatives, research utilization, and protocol development to reduce re-admissions and adverse events. Mentor staff and students to ensure a qualified workforce modeling professional nursing standards. Uphold Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act requirements, TJC safety goals, and Wellstar values within the Progressive Care Unit.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years direct patient care nursing experience
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN)
- Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional
- Pediatric Adv Life Support or PALS - Instructor or PALS - Provisional
