Job Summary
Assess and care for patients with acute and chronic conditions by administering intravenous and injectable medications, accessing central lines, obtaining lab specimens, and collecting vital signs. Provide comprehensive nursing care, including disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers, while documenting patient care and responding to adverse drug reactions. Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team in ambulatory infusion clinics across Concord, Charlotte, Gastonia, Rock Hill, and other locations as needed. Participate in on-call rotations for AIC nurses and travel to outlying clinics when assigned. Maintain knowledge of medical practices through educational in-services and comply with HIPAA and ACHC regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice
- 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy
- BLS or obtain upon hire
- Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner
- Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision
- Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff
- All employees must uphold the confidentiality of protected health information and follow all HIPAA policies
