Job Summary
Conduct nursing assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient status for individuals in acute mental health distress at the Crisis Intervention Center. Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety while supporting suicide prevention, seclusion/restraint protocols, and trauma-informed practices. Collaborate with physicians and the treatment team to stabilize patients, document clinical activity accurately, and educate families on recovery strategies. Provide essential care to those with co-occurring substance use disorders in a 24/7 inpatient setting. Working up to 28 hours weekly on a PRN basis with night/overnight coverage available.
Required Qualifications
- 21+ years old
- current Kansas RN licensure (ADN or BSN)
- CPR and First Aid certification
- pass all required background checks (KBI, KDADS)
- Physically capable of working in high-pressure situations and responding to emergencies
- comply with TB testing and health screening protocols
- pass pre-employment drug screening
- maintain a valid driver's license
- No substance-related driving offenses in the past 5 years
Desired Qualifications
- one year of psychiatric nursing, crisis intervention, emergency care, or inpatient experience
