Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs, develop care plans, and maintain medical records while educating families on conditions. Administer medications accurately, document controlled substance counts, and ensure physicians' verbal orders are transcribed per policy. Notify physicians of significant status changes, including detox difficulties or medical emergencies, and complete admission and discharge processing. Demonstrate universal precautions, maintain therapeutic rapport with patients, and coordinate unit activities as directed. Requires current RN license, one year of experience, and CPR/de-escalation certification. Located at Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification
Desired Qualifications
- previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience
