Deliver nursing care by developing diagnoses, establishing objectives, and defining interventions for patients, families, and friends while providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support. Review physician prescriptions, communicate care plans to the healthcare team, and coordinate with providers. Develop care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting physical and psychological status. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing goals and instructing patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Evaluate care by measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, and modifying nursing care plans as needed. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Document services in records and keep equipment operating by following operating instructions and performing preventive maintenance. Manage supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, and expediting orders. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
