Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care in the Emergency Department during night shifts, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and interventions. Apply the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans while administering medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per orders. Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, communicate status with physicians, and provide patient and family education. Supervise LVNs/LPNs and nursing assistants as needed, maintain accurate EMR documentation, and ensure EMTALA compliance. Participate in emergency response, trauma resuscitation, and critical care stabilization to support patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- E.R. setting experience
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- MICN within 12 months of hire
- Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire
- NRP certificate within 90 days of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire
