Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department during night shifts, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and interventions. Apply the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans while administering medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per orders. Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, communicate status with physicians, and supervise LVNs/LPNs as needed. Maintain accurate EMR documentation, ensure EMTALA compliance, and participate in trauma resuscitation and critical care stabilization. Support patient safety initiatives and provide education on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- E.R. setting experience
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- MICN within 12 months of hire
- Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire
- NRP certificate within 90 days of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire
