Registered Nurse (RN), Pre-Operative/PACU/OR - Full Time

Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Operating Room, Pre-Operative, and PACU settings while maintaining aseptic techniques and accurate documentation. Perform circulator duties including scrubbing, instrument counts, patient positioning, and medication verification. Supervise and direct patient care within the room, assist surgeons and anesthesiologists, and accompany patients to PACU for handoff. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and established policies while responding to emergent situations. Requires current RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and knowledge of Amkai software. Full-time schedule Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm; no weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
- Current RN License
- Previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry floors
- Ability to assess, prioritize, plan and implement patient care in an effective manner
- Ability to respond to emergent situations
- Demonstrates a positive, friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Maintains effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other staff
- Able to work within a team
- Good communication skills: oral and written
- Has the ability to be organized, manage time effectively and in a cost effective manner
- Ability to work independently and within a group
- Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences
- Observes assigned work schedules and hours
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
- Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
- Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time
- Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings preferred: Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry floors
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Should have knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software
- Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Printer, copier, telephone and fax
