Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN), Pre-Operative/PACU/Operating Room at Deer Creek Surgery Center (EyeCare Partners network) in Overland Park, KS. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in accordance with ASC policies and standards, supervising and directing patient care in the Operating Room, coordinating with Surgeons and Anesthesiologists, and ensuring aseptic technique, HIPAA compliance, and safe patient care. Duties include scrub and circulating responsibilities, preparing operative areas, maintaining equipment and supplies, training staff as needed, and supporting a healthy work environment. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and a current RN license; BSN is preferred. BLS is required; ACLS is preferred. Prior OR/ASC/PACU experience is preferred. The position is full-time with schedule Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm and one Friday per month, with no late nights or on-call shifts. Proficiency with Amkai Office/Charts software and standard office technology is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License required in the state where the worksite is located
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- One year of previous nursing experience in at least one of OR, surgical, ASC, Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry (preferred)
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- Knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work within a team and independently
- Flexibility to work within standard operating room hours and adhere to schedule
