Registered Nurse (RN), Pre-Op/PACU - Part Time

Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and document nursing care for patients in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care unit while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Supervise and direct patient care within the operating room, ensuring proper techniques align with accepted standards and reporting unusual occurrences immediately. Coordinate communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff while managing medical records accurately and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Respond to emergent situations, follow physician orders, and participate in continuing education and staff meetings. Work Monday through Friday between 6:30 am and 5:00 pm, typically for 2-3 days per week, with no late nights or weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Current RN License
- Must have a minimum previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry floors
- Must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States
- Walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally be able to bend, stoop, kneel and climb
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
- Previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings preferred: Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry floors
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Adult Cardiac Life Support(ACLS)
- Knowledge of Amkai Office
- Knowledge of Amkai Charts Database software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment
