Job Summary
RN (Pre-Op) provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinates care planning with other disciplines, and renders age-appropriate direct bedside nursing care. The role involves supervising other healthcare staff, directing patient care using the nursing process, evaluating nursing practice quality, participating in hourly rounding, and possibly being in charge for a shift. Requires strong assessment, delegation, and collaboration skills to ensure safe patient care in the pre-operative setting.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Experience in pre-operative or perioperative nursing preferred
- Ability to supervise and coordinate care for an assigned unit
- Strong nursing assessment, planning, and delegation skills
- Knowledge of nursing process and patient safety guidelines
