Registered Nurse (RN) PICU - Nights

Job Summary
Inpatient PICU Nurse needed for West Campus location on nights (7p-7a) with full-time and part-time options. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate, family-centered care; coordinating patient care by analyzing medical records; participating in interdisciplinary rounds; documenting assessments and care plans; administering medications and treatments; and demonstrating strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills while supporting performance improvement initiatives. Requires RN license in Texas (or compact) and CPR/BLS; preferred ICU experience. Respiratory fit testing will be completed per safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, associate’s degree, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license required or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN with a verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement.
- 9 months experience in nursing (minimum)
- RN License by Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact
- CPR – Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
- The ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, and knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, PALS, and interdisciplinary collaboration
