Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect nursing care to periop patients for CVOR, Neuro, Difficult Airway, Transplant, and Ophthalmology services. Circulate all levels of advanced periop service cases while managing clinical situations independently under supervision. Operate and prepare complicated surgical equipment, administer prescribed medications, and document surgical procedures and counts. Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Prioritize patient care, follow infection prevention precautions, and initiate emergency response measures as needed. Take call including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing
- One (1) year experience as a registered nurse
- Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program
- Successful completion of a comparable residency from another organization
- 1 year of licensed practical nurse (LPN) experience for internal candidates within the same service line
- Nursing diploma with licensure to practice as a registered nurse
- Current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working
- Ability to maintain inventory control (Surgeon's preferences and instrumentation needs)
- Ability to precept new staff to the OR
- Ability to maintain continuing education credits
- Must be able to take call, including weekends
