Job Summary
Provide optimal perinatal care (antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum) to women, babies, and families using appropriate clinical judgment within a client and family-centred care model. Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for assigned patients while adhering to British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives standards and Health Authority policies. Collaborate with the health care team to ensure quality practice and learning environments. Complete post-basic training education at BCIT prior to working in the Department, followed by full-time practicum locations from April 5, 2027, to June 25, 2027. Maintain regular status with Vancouver Coastal Health for at least 18 months post-training. Submit a resume and cover letter for this specialty training opportunity.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- approximately two years recent acute medical/surgical experience
- successfully complete the post-basic training education
- agree to remain with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a regular status nurse in the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they are hired for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training
- report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections
- provide this information as part of the onboarding process
