Job Summary
Provide care to childbearing women, newborns, and selected gynecologic or clean surgical patients in a safe, nurturing environment. Assess the physical and emotional needs of patients and families to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care. Supervise others in care implementation and continuously assess the effectiveness of the plan. Maintain current Registered Nurse licensure and complete BLS and NRP certifications within required timeframes. Enroll in a BSN or MSN program within six months of hire, graduating by the third employment anniversary.
Required Qualifications
- BSN or MSN program enrollment from an accredited school of professional nursing within six months of hire or rehire
- Graduation from BSN or MSN program on or before the third employment anniversary date into a nursing position
- Registered nurse license
- BLS certification within months of hire
- NRP certification within 3 months of hire
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to the appropriate age of the patient
- Ability to provide care to childbearing women and their newborns
- Ability to provide care to selected other gynecologic and clean surgical patients
- Ability to assess the physical and emotional needs of the patient/family
- Ability to develop a plan of care that incorporates principles of care for age and developmental level
- Ability to implement the plan of care
- Ability to supervise others with the implementation and assess its effectiveness
