Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric ICU - Rotating

Job Summary
Deliver age-specific care to pediatric patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. Safely administer prescribed medications, identify incompatibilities and interactions, and accurately document direct care. Anticipate changes in patient situations and intervene appropriately while providing direction, education, and leadership at the unit level. Organize work and delegate to RNs, LPNs, care partners, and unit secretaries to carry out assignments. Clinicians work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays with individual rotation schedules established with the Nurse Manager. This role supports the region's only full-service children's hospital within VCU Health's comprehensive system of care.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
- 12 to 24 months RN experience
- Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state's Board of Nursing
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
- Clinicians work all three shifts, weekends and holidays

Desired Qualifications
- Experience as an LPN, nursing assistant or care partner in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
- Academic Health Care Experience
- Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program
- Certification in specialty area
