Job Summary
Supervise nursing care for residents according to physician's orders while directing staff to ensure quality delivery on your shift. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, accurately document care provided, and refer to resident care plans. Observe and report abnormal findings including injuries, incidents, skin issues, complaints, suspected abuse, or unsafe conditions. Oversee operation and staffing for your shift, ensuring all personnel function within scope of practice and follow Brookhaven policies, infection control practices, and required in-service education. Maintain professional competence and communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to BrookHaven mission, values, philosophy and Service Excellence Initiative
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Must function within scope of practice according to the State Board of Nursing
- Must meet job related competencies for LPN and/or Registered Nurse as outlined in the Skills Competency Manual
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current license as a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse with the State Board of Nursing
- Must be in good physical condition as the position requires the ability to stand on one's feet throughout the day, as well as, push, pull, move and/or lift frequently a minimum of 10 pounds and up to greater than 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to complete performance requirements independently while using good judgment as well as have the ability to harmoniously work with others
- Regular attendance and punctuality
Desired Qualifications
- CPR certification recommended
