Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) for PACU/Recovery in Perioperative Services.Responsibilities include delivering and accurately documenting direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and an integrated multidisciplinary plan; safely administering prescribed medications; contributing to team-based patient care; developing leadership skills at the unit level; and supporting staff through clinical ladder advancements and education. The role involves Monday–Friday days with four ten-hour shifts and rotating on-call requirements (7 first call and 7 back-up calls in a 13-week period, with some weekends and holidays). Requires RN licensure in Virginia (or eligible/compact state); education/training includes Diploma or Associate Degree from an approved nursing program, with expectation to enroll in an RN to BSN program within two years and complete within five years. Supervisory responsibilities may include organizing work and delegating to team members.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
- All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date unless grandfathered under previous requirements
