Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a physician or midlevel provider while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Collect patient health data, analyze it to determine diagnoses, and develop individualized plans of care that prescribe interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implement these interventions and evaluate patient progress, working collaboratively with the healthcare team. Perform professional nursing work of considerable difficulty, including patient and family health education and health assessments. Ensure quality, safety, and infection control standards are met while administering medications and patient care aids. Maintain high interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and clearly communicate disease nature and proper care instructions to patients and families. Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, current Ohio RN license, and CPR/BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program
- Current Ohio Registered Nurse license
- CPR/BLS certified
- Knowledge of triage procedures
- Clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids
- Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment
- Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
- Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
