Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a physician or midlevel provider, maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Collect patient health data, analyze it to determine diagnoses and expected outcomes, and develop individualized plans of care that prescribe interventions. Implement these interventions, evaluate patient progress, and provide patient and family health education and assessments. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team while performing professional nursing work of considerable difficulty. Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards, and clearly communicate disease nature and proper care instructions to patients and families. Requires current Ohio RN license, BLS certification, and knowledge of triage procedures for clinic, physician office, or urgent care settings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program
- Current Ohio Registered Nurse license
- CPR/BLS certified
- Knowledge of triage procedures
- Clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids
- Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment
- Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
- Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
