Job Summary
Perform the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients in the Ortho Nights shift. Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds and documentation while providing relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects cultural diversity. Partner with patients and families to set goals and ensure timely updates on care plans. Participate in shared governance activities, evidence-based practice initiatives, and performance improvement projects. Serve as a preceptor or mentor to support the professional development of new staff and students. Maintain current certifications in RN licensure and BLS, and complete all mandatory education and competency assessments. Adhere to Wellstar policies, the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, and TJC safety goals.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
