Job Summary
Perform general nursing care, administer prescribed medications, and coordinate patient activities in the oncology clinic. Prepare equipment for procedures, observe and report patient reactions, and oversee appointment scheduling to maintain timely flow. Greet patients, conduct nursing assessments, collect samples, and respond to phone calls with physician input. Educate patients on diagnostic processes and medications, suggest solutions to care crises, and maintain exam room cleanliness and supply lists. Label pathology specimens according to lab protocol and ensure quality control on testing. Work day shifts at Avera Helmsley Center-Pierre, earning up to $41.25 hourly with potential sign-on and relocation bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- Active license in the state of practice upon hire
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Board of Nursing
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
