Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients and families while administering prescribed medications and treatments. Coordinate patient care activities, oversee appointment scheduling, and maintain timely clinic flow. Perform general nursing assessments, greet patients, collect samples, and respond to phone calls with physician input. Educate patients on diagnostic processes, medications, and wellness; suggest solutions to care crisis problems. Maintain exam rooms, prepare medical supplies, and ensure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol. Perform quality control on lab testing and document all patient reactions and conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Active license in the state of practice
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Ability to work the hours specified
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
