Job Summary
Coordinate clinic patient care activities, administer prescribed medications, and perform general nursing assessments while maintaining timely appointment flow. Screen patients for health histories and vitals, greet individuals for examinations, and respond to provider phone calls with appropriate input. Prepare equipment for procedures, maintain exam room cleanliness, and ensure proper labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocols. Educate patients on diagnostic processes and wellness, report patient reactions to treatments, and suggest solutions to care crisis problems. Float primarily with outreach providers at Avera Queen of Peace and other clinics as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
