Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Job Summary
Assess patients prior to surgery, including NPO status, and alleviate their concerns while reviewing charts for completeness before and after procedures. Prepare the operating room by organizing supplies, implants, and equipment, then position and prepare the patient on the operating table. Monitor vital signs to detect anomalies and pass medical instruments to the surgeon when scrubbed. Maintain a high level of sterility throughout the operative process and troubleshoot equipment as needed. Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards and aseptic techniques to promote safe care for patients undergoing operative and invasive procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Associate Nursing degree
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Current 2 years' experience as Operating Room Nurse
