Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Conduct comprehensive preoperative and intraoperative assessments for surgical patients, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to define and implement individualized care plans. Administer medications adhering to the five rights and surgical services policies while maintaining strict aseptic technique during procedures. Perform the scrub role, preparing rooms with necessary instruments, sutures, and supplies, and accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments to report discrepancies immediately. Document the nursing process and patient responses timely, provide accurate condition reports for safe care transfers, and interpret data to identify age-specific needs. Function autonomously under stress, utilizing critical thinking for priority setting and delegation while serving as a professional role model and mentor. Requires a Registered Nurse license in Connecticut, CPR certification, and previous surgical or labor and delivery experience.
