Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (CVOR Team) at Mercy Cedar Rapids in a 24/7 OR with Open Heart specialization. Schedule 0700-1530, 40 hours/week with call every 3rd weekend and on-call pay. Supports a team-based OR environment with Orthopedics, Neuro, General, ENT/Plastics, Open Heart, and more. Provides competent perioperative nursing care, including sterile technique, accurate handoffs, patient and family education, and collaboration with diverse care teams. Mentors and orients new staff, and participates in continuous quality and safety initiatives. Requires an Iowa RN license (or compact state), BLS, and ACLS within 6 months of hire; OR experience preferred; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state required
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtain within 6 months of hire
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required
- OR experience preferred
- Open Heart Team experience in OR setting desirable
