Job Summary
Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients in the operating room using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork. Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve quality of care by incorporating research and implementing evidence-based knowledge. Coordinate involvement of patients, families, and health team members in care, including patient teaching and discharge planning. Communicate the plan of care to other health care team members and assist leadership in defining standards of excellence. Participate in performance improvement activities, orientation of new staff, and unit committees for policy formulation. Provide input regarding unit needs and perform other duties as assigned. Requires a BSN, valid RN license, and AHA BLS certification. Pay range $46.55 - $59.25 hourly. Full-time day shift with potential for evenings, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Experience as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 1 year OR RN experience required
- Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 20 lbs
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to reach above/overhead
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
