Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve desired outcomes. Coordinate involvement of patients, families, and health team members in care, including teaching and discharge planning. Communicate the plan of care to other health care team members and assist leadership in defining standards of excellence for patient care. Participate in performance improvement activities, orientation of new staff, and unit committees for policy formulation. Act as a point of contact for hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs and perform other duties as assigned. This Level II Competent Registered Nurse role requires a valid RN license from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state, with a BSN preferred. The position involves tolerance for irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends, along with potential exposure to radiation, toxic chemicals, and bloodborne pathogens.
