Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology 8W at Mercy Hospital South. Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and related treatments, coordinate with other departments, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality. Responsibilities include evaluating care effectiveness, ensuring professional accountability, and supporting overflow/general medical care as needed. The unit emphasizes compassionate care, symptom management, complex care planning, and meaningful patient relationships. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) and an active RN license in Missouri or compact licensure, with BLS certification required (or obtained within 30 days). Night shift with 36 hours/week schedule; sign-on bonuses available for experienced and new graduate nurses. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) or within 30 days of hire
- Experience: hospital experience preferred; depending on unit
- Preferred: BSN; additional state licensure or specialty certifications
